Birds (near passerines)

Near-passerines are a strange group of birds which come after Auks (irrelevant at Morton Bagot), and before Shrikes which seem to start the passerines in the current taxonomic order. I should include Falcons in this group, but that seems so counter-intuitive to me that I have placed them with the other birds of prey among the non-passerine group.

So we start with Pigeons, move through Woodpeckers and Cuckoo, then Owls, and end with Swift.
