Birds (passerines)

This page of birds is likely to be the longest because while the small areas of water at Morton Bagot draw in the non-passerines, the rest of the patch is essentially dry. Thus the passerines here are a combination of farmland and woodland birds, with the odd rarity thrown in.

As it happens the best passerine rarity here, Great Grey Shrike, leads the list. The first one was in 2010 and was photographed. Sadly somewhere in the switch from my old computer to my new one the original photo has got lost in the ether. That only leaves the 2013 bird which never came close enough for anything better than a series of distant record shots in the days before I learnt how to upload photos without a black ring surrounding them.
